Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) Invitation
Dear Families,
Lawrence Public Schools and the Office of Student Support Services are committed to strengthening collaboration between families and schools to ensure every student with a disability receives the support they need to succeed.
In accordance with Massachusetts state law (603 CMR 28.07(4)), each public school district must have a Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). The SEPAC is a parent-led group that works in partnership with the district to:
-
Provide input on special education programs and services;
-
Promote understanding, respect, and communication between families and schools; and
Offer workshops and resources to help families navigate the special education process.
LPS is now working to form our SEPAC, and we invite parents and guardians of students with IEPs to participate in this important effort.
If you are interested in joining or learning more about the SEPAC, please contact:

Family Listening Sessions
This folder contains the audio and video recordings of Specialized Program Family Listening Sessions held by the Office of Student Support Services across the 2023-2024SY.
These family listening sessions include information on important topics, provided in an effort to help support home and school collaboration between families of students who access Specialized Program support services. Each month a different presenter provides ongoing education on available community resources and monthly topics identified as future areas on which to focus on by LPS families following survey data collected in Spring of 2023.
We invite you to reference these recordings at your leisure and direct any follow questions to Dr. Danielle Archambeault, Director of Inclusion Education.
