Congratulations to the sixteen Para-educators from Cohort Eight who completed the Lawrence Working Families Initiative program and graduated at a ceremony held on June 4, 2026 at Northern Essex Community College.

Mariana Hernandez, Senior Project Architect with SMMA, presented the Gold Award won for "Outstanding Professional Design Excellence" to Mayor Brian A. DePeña last week with many local and state leaders in attendance. SMMA is the design collaborative behind the new Henry K. Oliver School, and won this prestigious award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for a fully electric school building that blends a historic facade with an efficient, modern design. Congratulations!

Congratulations to our 2026 Merrimack Valley Champion Boys Varsity Volleyball Team! After a win at home versus Leominster, they advance to play Lowell away on Saturday, May 30th at 11am. Come on out to cheer on our champs!

Job well done to the students in the Lawrence High School National Honor Society who raised almost $2000 to donate to the Lazarus House. They presented the check in a ceremony on campus last week.

Shoutout to the Spanish Department - 200 students earned the Seal of Biliteracy this year. Thirteen of those students achieved the highest distinction and were selected to represent LHS at a special ceremony at the University of Massachusetts Amherst alongside their parents. Congratulations to all of our students for this incredible accomplishment!

Students signed in ASL to start the 2026 Special Olympics Unified Games in Lawrence today. All schools around the District took part in the games at this annual event. Stay tuned for more photos soon.
