Leahy Construction Updates

Framing of the exterior walls and completion of the brickwork remain 98% complete, with the openings on the west elevation in the north corner of the Bruce St. construction loading zone to be completed. Curbs were installed along Trinity and Bruce Streets, as well as Erving Avenue. The base preparation for the sidewalk has been completed. Most of the sidewalk concrete paving on Bruce Street has been placed.

Leahy June 2025 Update Progress Report

The roofers and glaziers worked 3 Saturdays during May. Additionally, the electricians and roofers will work extended hours during the coming weeks, including Saturdays. Sealants for the brick control joints, around wall penetrations, and the relieving angles remain ongoing. The air vapor barrier spray application for the ceiling of the covered parking was started and will continue through the 1st week of June.

Leahy May 2025 Update Progress Report

National Grid set the transformer, connected the primaries, and installed the guy wires from the pole on Bruce St., crossing over to the pole on site. The final connection for the permanent power is awaiting the final rough electrical inspection, which is expected by mid-April. Two-thirds of the kindergarten floor area and the corridor were prepped over to the west side of the elevator. The installation of the divider strips, accessories, and terrazzo epoxy started.

Leahy March 2025 Update Progress Report

Framing of the exterior walls remains 98% complete, with the framing of the openings in the NW corner of the Bruce St. loading zone and the covered parking area ceiling remaining. Installation of the aluminum windows, including sealing of the interior and exterior, was ongoing throughout the month and is 92% complete. Performance testing of the aluminum windows began on February 3^rd and continued through the 11^th.

Leahy February 2025 Update Progress Report

The transformer enclosure is complete, including the wiring from the building and the new utility pole to the enclosure. NG continued with installing new utility poles along Bruce St., completion of the new transmission lines are ongoing.  Installation of the transformer is pending final inspection from NG and expected by the end of January.

Leahy December Update Progress Report

The roof structures for Stairs 1 and 4 were installed, brickwork on the North wall is complete; the East is underway. Work on the South elevation and roof terrace walls continued throughout the month and is 90% complete. Eversource installed the gas meter and bollards to protect the meter. The HVAC ductwork in the gym is 85% complete. Framing of the exterior walls is 98% complete. Workers continued with the PVC membrane, and curb blocking for the Roof Terrace and expected to be water tight the first week of December. The West elevation window installation was completed. The North elevation window installation was started, beginning on Level 4 and is ongoing.

Leahy November Update Progress Report

The brickwork on the West elevation continued through the end of the month. Completing most of the wall, less the North corner, which is being used as the hoisting area for the trades. Brickwork on the North wall is underway working East to West and is approximately 25% complete. Work on the East wall was started at the North corner. Worker installed blocking atop of Courtyard parapet to receive the metal trim and PVC membrane. The Roof Terrace PVC membrane, workers started prepping the roof by installing equipment curbs, roofing AVB and blocking atop of roof edge curb. Leahy October Update Progress Report

The brickwork on the exterior walls of the courtyard was completed. On the West elevation, the brickwork was started, completing 15% of the work, and will remain ongoing throughout the month.

Leahy September Update Progress Report

Average daytime temperature of 78 degrees, with three days in the low 90’s. There was less than 2” of rain, having minimal impact to progress. The storm water detention area was excavated, and structures set. Work is expected to continue through most of September. Leahy August Update Progress Report

Even with extreme temperatures in July, there was minimal impact on progress. Structural steel work is mostly complete, plumbing and HVAC are progressing level by level. Traffic interruptions are expected to continue at Erving Ave. and Bruce St. for deliveries during the daytime hours.
