Lancer Sports Have A Strong Week
Lancer Varsity Sports had a tremendous last week of regular season play. Girls soccer had a hard-fought tie, varsity football soundly beat Haverhill in their last home game, and girls volleyball brought home a win on Senior Night. Go Lancers!

Bruins and Scholastic Brought Books to Oliver
Retired Bruins Hockey player, Bob Sweeney read to two special classrooms at the Oliver Elementary School. These first graders were selected for excellent attendance! He talked with the students and read to them before they were able to select 3 books to take home. Thank you Bruins Foundation and Scholastic for bringing these special books to our students.

Safe Halloween Fun at the Frost
Students and families at the Frost School got all dressed up in their favorite costumes and had fun at a recent Trunk or Treat event. A big thank you to the many Frost Elementary staff who participated in planning, decorating the trunks and taking photos!
Remember if you are going Trick or Treating tonight, it is 5-7pm. Be careful crossing streets, wear something reflective or bring a light. Have fun out there!

Fall Game Night at the South Lawrence East Elementary School
The South Lawrence East Elementary School hosted a Fall Game Night. Families enjoyed playing a variety of board and card games but the highlight of the event was Bingo.

Guilmette Middle School at Moon over Merrimack Festival
Students at the Guilmette Middle School experienced Moon over Merrimack this week. Students travelled to Merrimack College and participated in an astronomy festival. where they explored many activities related to telescopes, planets, robotics and space travel. It was an Out of This World experience. The Guilmette Middle is grateful for our partnership with Merrimack College.

Actor, author and podcaster Christopher Rivas visits Lawrence High School
Christopher Rivas brought his interactive storytelling workshops to students at Lawrence High School recently. He spent the day on campus to discuss empowerment and other themes of his book “Brown Enough: True Stories About Love, Violence, the Student Loan Crisis, Hollywood, Race, Familia, and Making It in America.”

Read for the Record 2024
Lawrence Public Schools participated in the annual Read for the Record event in more than 17 pre-K and kindergarten classrooms around the district on Thursday.
Administrators, staff and local elected officials read "Piper Chen Sings" by Phillipa Soo and Maris Pasquale Doran to very enthusiastic listeners. Thank you to all our readers for taking the time to visit and share with our students!

New Peer Mediators Take Oath
Lawrence High School now has nine new Peer Mediators who traveled to Newburyport District Court this week, joining other student leaders from the region to take their mediator oath. They also had the opportunity to meet with local judicial court officials.

Rollins Banner School Pep Rally Celebration
Celebrations at the Rollins School this morning as the school had a pep rally to kick off the Unified Games and recognize their accomplishment of becoming the first Pre-School in Massachusetts to be recognized as a Banner School with the Special Olympics. Superintendent Carrero took part in the torch ceremony and received the official award on behalf of the District. Congratulations to Principal Maura Bradley-Gnanou, the entire staff and students for working together so that everyone is included. We choose to include!

Celebrating Many Cultures at Parthum Elementary
Parthum Elementary families celebrated the many different cultures that are represented at the school. They brought their favorite foods and clothing to Culture Night to share with everyone and enjoyed music and special dance presentations.
