Guilmette Perseveres
Students in all grade levels at the Guilmette Educational Complex participated in assemblies and activities on perseverance. Each student made a “Pledge for Perseverance” and these are on display throughout the school. We are excited to continue this theme throughout the year.

LPS UML Educator Launch Event
Celebrating the launch of the second year of our paraprofessional pathway and the first year of our leadership pathway! This collaboration between LPS and our partner UMass Lowell will educate 50 in the Para to educator cohort and 12 each in two tracks of Masters in Administration as the District focuses on creating a more diverse workforce. Welcome back, students! The first day of school in Lawrence Public Schools brought over 13,000 students and their families out to start the year, like these Guilmette 1st graders. Together we'll make this a great year!

Great Energy at Staff Opening Day
Superintendent Carrero greets the LHS Theater students who made a huge part in the positive energy at Opening Day for Staff. They previewed songs from the Fall musical "In the Heights" to standing ovations. The entire District is charged up and ready for the students 1st day of school, Monday August 26th. See you then!

Families are Welcomed Around District
All over the Lawrence Public Schools this week, families and students were welcomed back by teachers and administrators. Everyone is ready to make this a great school year! At the Leahy School, more than 220 people attended the Welcome Back Open House, enjoyed ice cream treats and received backpacks for the students.

Great Turnout at 9GA Event
More than 600 people attended the 9GA Family Orientation and BBQ held last weekend, Families learned how to get their 9th graders ready to enter High School this year, met with many local organizations that work with youth and enjoyed some BBQ treats.

LTU at Mobile Market
Hats off to the Lawrence Teachers Union and other volunteers who helped distribute food, books and backpacks with Superintendent Carrero at the monthly Mobile Market. More than 225 families received needed supplies.

60 Students in AP Prep
LHS Campus was busy these past 2 weeks of Summer. There were 60 students, taking AP classes in the Fall, who attended an intensive AP Prep course. Great work by all involved.

LHS Graduates 52 Seniors in Summer Graduation 2024
Congratulations to the 52 Lawrence High School Seniors from HLC, UNIDOS, RISE and USA who completed their final year during the Summer program and graduated last night. Family and friends celebrated as they received their diplomas. Great work!
