Students from around the District came out to complete and enjoy the day at the recent Special Olympics. Younger students participated at the South Lawrence East while Middle and High School students competed at the Veterans' Memorial Stadium. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this day possible. In celebration of Arbor Day and in collaboration with Groundworks Lawrence, the Alexander Bruce students learned about the importance of trees to our city and environment.  They then rolled up their sleeves and planted beautiful trees across the campus alongside City officials.

About 1,400 students attended the vacation week April Acceleration Academy. There was lots of enthusiasm during the smaller class sizes and hands on learning.
